The ESOMM event will be hosted again at the Amsterdam Naval Barracks. At this location, bordering the city centre, modern meeting facilities are made available this week by the Royal Netherlands Navy. More historical background information of the Naval base in Amsterdam can be found here.
The address of the gate of the Naval base is: Kattenburgerstraat 4, Amsterdam. Travel directions will follow soon, as well as parking facilities on the base.
Amsterdam is the capital of The Netherlands famous for its canals, still resembling the traffic system during the Dutch Golden Age around the 17th century. It has many well known attractions, like e.g. the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museum, the Hermitage and about five million bicycles.

Maybe this map of the city centre is of help.

Amsterdam is most easy to enter by train. The train station at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is located below the arrival halls. Trains to central station leave about every 10 minutes, and this takes about 20 minutes. From there you can take a tram, bus or taxi. Plan your travels here:
If you plan to use a (rental) car, please be advised that parking in Amsterdam City can be difficult and expensive. Also be aware of many bicycles around. It is Dutch tradition to ignore all traffic lights by bike.
Below an overview of hotel arrangements for ESOMM-2014:
Mövenpick: this hotel is at walking distance from the meeting site (10 minutes) and has very nice setting with spectacular views at the waterfront. We are happy for ESOMM-2014 to have this hotel available. On the Sunday we will have our "get together" in the hotel. Background information: Website Mövenpick, ESOMM reservation form: reservation form. If you appreciate good view from the room, we think the view to central station (and city) is most special. Upgrades to other rates can also be requested.
IBIS Centre Stopera: this hotel is at walking distance from the meeting site (8 minutes, 600m). The Navy has negotiated a very good rate for this hotel, especially for the Amsterdam area. This hotel is relatively new. The city centre is at walking distance. Background information: Website Ibis Stopera hotel, ESOMM reservation form: reservation form IBIS hotels. Please note that both IBIS hotels use same form, so make sure to select right hotel.
IBIS Centre; this hotel is right on top of the train station, which makes its surroundings a bit more busy. Travelling to the meeting site is a nice walk of about 25 minutes (1800m), or 10 minutes by bus. The hotel has identical service as IBIS Stopera, but is a little bit older. Rates are higher because this hotel is normally not part of the Navy arrangements. Background information: Website Ibis Centre hotel, ESOMM reservation form: reservation form IBIS hotels. Please note that both IBIS hotels use same form, so make sure to select right hotel.
Badhotel, The Hague/Scheveningen; for people that want to stay longer and/or attending dedicated project meetings on Friday a block reservation has been made for this hotel (11 -13 September). Located at the sea-side of The Hague. Group transportation from Amsterdam to The Hague on Thursday will be arranged. Special rates have been negotiated for the hotel. Pleas use this form (Word file, Pdf file) to make reservations. For the hotel website look at: Website Badhotel Scheveningen
